The role
Rystad Energy is seeking an Account Manager (Head of Sales – Japan & Korea) with experience in subscription sales and managing sales teams to take on the immediate responsibility of sales and strategic account management for the Japanese and Korean markets, coupled with the responsibility of managing a sales team. This rolewill report to Head of Sales, Asia Pacific.
Key responsibilities
- Sell Rystad Energy’s research offerings to companies/organizations within the energy sector in Japan and take on the management of the Japan & Korea sales team as we grow our business in these markets
- Develop and execute product-driven and segment-focused client acquisition strategy
- Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities to meet sales targets
- Engage with, present & pitch to prospective clients (“prospects”) daily, while adopting a consultative and solution-oriented approach in order to win new business
- Work closely with internal cross-functional teams – Marketing, Product, Research, Client Training and Services – to drive engagement with prospects and close deals
- On successfully bringing in new clients, manage the client accounts to ensure renewal of services as well as growth through upselling/cross-selling of offerings
- Constantly promote the Rystad Energy brand and values externally in all interactions with prospects and clients
Key Responsibilities
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree
- 8 to 10 years of B2B Sales/Business Development experience within the Energy industry in Japan – specifically, experience in selling business or market intelligence services within the Energy industry in Japan
- Proven track record of surpassing sales revenue targets through a combination of new business development and existing account management
- A strong network of relationships within the energy, banking and government sectors that can be leveraged for new business generation
- Ability to engage with individuals across all levels within target organizations, including Senior Management/C-Suite
- Experience in internal stakeholder management – i.e., experience in working collaboratively with cross-functional and multi-national teams internally to drive prospect/client engagement and revenue generation externally
- Fluent in Japanese and English
