About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated Sales & Business Development Executive to support our sales efforts in Japan. The ideal candidate will be a team player with strong sales skills, excellent market analysis capabilities, and a strategic mindset.

Experience in the Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) industry or Consulting is a must. Experience in supply chain audits and assessment services in key industries such as food, retail, and general industry. Knowledge of international standards on Quality, Health, Safety & Environment (QHSE), Food Safety, and Social audits is an added advantage.

The main areas of responsibility are:

Analyze the market of the pertinent local area to understand trends, general outlook, development opportunities, potential customers, and competitors’ strategy.
Ensure the achievement of the individual and team sales targets assigned.
Responsible for implementing sales actions through the development of prospects and existing customers.
Be the primary point of contact for the customers assigned to their portfolio.
Follow up leads and opportunities coming from the website and generated from Marcom activities.
Ensure DNV visibility, reinforce customer loyalty, and collect customers’ feedback, contributing to customer satisfaction.
Provide input and information to contribute to Forecast, Tactical Plan, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and Target definition processes.
Behave to secure that brand reputation and integrity values are adherent to the objectives, the values, and vision of DNV during sales activities.
Comply with Country Price Policy and quote approvals process according to the Chart of Authority.
Contribute to developing and maintaining a network of channels (consultants, advisory companies, free-lance auditors, partners, associations…) to nurture the lead generation activities.
Sustain existing customers’ loyalty, deal with cross-sales projects in coordination with other DNV departments.
Take part in local communication actions (external events, tradeshows, conferences, workshops, etc.) organized by the Marcom Department
Understanding of the Sales Operating platform and management of the quotation process.

About you

The successful candidate should have:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
Minimum 8 years of experience in a B2B sales position is a must (comparable position in the TIC industry or consulting will be considered as a plus).
Experience in CERTIFICATION BODY and 2nd Party Audit programmes
Fluent in Japanese and comfortable in English.
Strong sales and negotiation skills.
Independence and responsibility in the implementation of entrusted tasks.
Creativity and openness to the use of new solutions and concepts.
Excellent work organization and proficiency in MS Office.
Ability to communicate effectively on all levels inside and outside of the organization.
Availability for domestic travel.

Business Assurance is a unit of DNV where we are working with our customers towards verifying them if they are compliant with some particular rules. We are responsible for scheduling audits. We need to assign the right person with the right competences to conduct such an audit. And we are analysing and improving their processes. But sometimes we need to register some findings like observation, opportunity for improvement, or even non-conformities. I verify our clients' system management by observing them, how they work, how they produce. It's very interesting because we are delivering some additional information for our customers, what they cannot see or discover in their own systems. My work life as an auditor is completely different than employees who are working from the office every day. Because usually I'm travelling to our customers that are located in a different part of our country. Almost every week I work with different people in different companies. So if you like travel, if you are well organized, DNV can be for you.
