- Full-time, onsite (Monday–Friday, 0800–1645 JST) and will receive day-to-day direction from the Site Lead.
- Support 13+ regional sites and mission-critical systems.
- Active Secret Clearance required.
Position Summary:
We are currently
hiring an Information Assurance (I/A) System Administrator in Yokosuka Japan to support the United States Navy's Naval Computer and Telecommunications Systems Far East, Performance Based Work Statement for Telephone Switch Maintenance, Extended Service Plan Contract by providing continuous Cybersecurity Monitoring, Intrusion Detection and Cyber Incident Responses. Information Assurance (I/A) System Administrator in Yokosuka Japan performing patching and scanning Avaya, Nortel and GenBand digital switching systems and servers. Server certificate management and updates for all supported platforms listed in paragraph 3.0. Provide OEM patching and software updates as needed when local technicians require assistance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform patching and scanning Avaya, Nortel and GenBand digital switching systems and servers.
- Server certificate management and updates for all supported platforms in region (approximately 13 sites including at least annual support trip to Naval Facility Diego Garcia.
- Provide OEM patching and software updates as needed when local technicians require assistance.
- Supported switch systems include: MSL-100 / CM6 / CM8 / CM10 / M1 / RCC2 / AS5300 / 11C / Switch Expert / RLCM with associated software versions.
- Support Site Lead through initial troubleshooting support, emergency response, on-site training (hands-on support instruction to government Operation & Maintenance providers) as relates to Information Assurance policy, process, operations, and sustainment.
- Peripheral equipment support.
- Project/engineering support as required.
- Coordinate with Site Lead to ensure that higher-level OEM support for IA is available to the onsite technicians 24 X 7 X 365.
- Service is for all Nortel\Avaya\GenBand equipment and voicemail.
Required Qualifications:
- CompTIA Security+ CE certification or equivalent IAT Level II certification per [SECNAV M-5239.2] and [DoD 8140] Cybersecurity Workforce requirements.
- Experience performing certificate management.
- Experience with ACAS, SCAP and other designated government scanning tools.
- Experience applying patches to DoD IT systems.
- Ability to generate standardized IA reports and brief DoD personnel regarding IA status of assigned systems.
- Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance required. Successful candidates must be a U.S. Citizen and will be subject to successfully obtain, complete, and maintain a favorable Tier 3 (NACLC & ANACI) Government Secret Security Clearance and to include a favorable Tier 1 (formerly known as a National Agency Check Inquiries (NACI) background check which includes a successful completion of a Base Access Registration Pass and associative suitability.
- Successful candidates will be required to maintain a valid driver's license.
- Successful candidates will be subject to complete and maintain a successful completion of drug screen and MVR check.
Desired Qualifications:
- Cybersecurity Service Provider (CSSP) experience is preferred
- CASP or CISSP Certification.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, stoop, and bend for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity in hands, fingers, and arms for reaching, climbing, balancing, and using hand/power tools and controls.
- Vision abilities must include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Must be able to climb ladders safely when needed.
- Must be capable of safely driving and operating vehicles.
- Regularly able to lift and transport up to 50 lbs; frequently required to handle equipment weighing up to 70 lbs.
- Ability to move throughout the work environment as needed.
- Must possess clear and effective verbal and written communication skills.
