Responsible for the design, analysis, integration, testing, and performance evaluation of automotive radar systems, with a focus on vehicle installation, on-road/chamber data capture, and customer-facing technical support.
The role works independently to identify and resolve technical issues, coordinate with overseas engineering teams, and translate analysis results into clear recommendations and corrective actions.
- Work independently to identify, analyze, and resolve radar system issues; document root causes and corrective actions, and support closure with cross-functional teams.
- Capture and analyze radar datasets from laboratory, chamber, and vehicle tests using simulation/analysis tools such as MATLAB and CAN analyzer/CANoe; report findings and recommendations.
- Act as an interface between local application teams and overseas platform/R&D teams to resolve radar system topics and align technical solutions.
- Plan and execute radar installation studies and analyses, including mounting position and alignment sensitivity, and create installation guidelines for vehicle programs.
- Support customer technical discussions and prepare technical materials and presentations for reviews and business pursuits as needed.
Technical:
- Degree in Automobile Engineering, Information and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of engineering experience in an automotive Tier 1 or similar environment.
- Radar development experience and understanding of Automobile ADAS application basics.
- Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and standards, such as NCAP, ISO, etc.
- Experience with simulation and analysis tools such as MATLAB, CAN analyzers.
Soft Skills:
- Experience of communication with customers and global engineering teams.
- Ability to work independently and drive technical issue resolution.
- Customer focus and ability to explain technical findings clearly.
- Experience in signal processing, radar installation analysis, OEM EOL testing/analysis, and RF/electromagnetic wave fundamentals.
- Experience with systems engineering tools, including SysML,Enterprise Architect.
- Experience with programming, including C languages, Python, Matlab.
- English: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Japanese: Native level.
- Domestic and international travel is required.
