We are seeking a talented Software Engineer to join Keysight's RF Test & Measurement R&D organization in Kobe, Japan.
In this role, you will contribute to the development of next-generation RF and microwave measurement platforms, including cutting-edge signal analysis products. You will work on advanced technologies that combine software, FPGA, hardware, and measurement science to deliver industry-leading electronic test and measurement solutions.
This position provides opportunities to work across a broad range of technical areas, including application software, instrument control, system architecture, hardware/software integration, automation, and measurement technologies. You will collaborate with globally distributed engineering teams to develop innovative solutions that help customers solve challenging problems in wireless communications, aerospace and defense, semiconductor, and emerging technology markets.
This position is based in Kobe, Japan. The successful candidate will work as part of a local engineering team in a Japanese-speaking environment while collaborating closely with global R&D organizations across multiple sites. Native-level or fluent proficiency in Japanese and professional proficiency in English are required.

Responsibilities:

Design, develop, test, and maintain software solutions for RF test and measurement products.

Develop features across multiple layers of the system, including application software, instrument control, and hardware interfaces.

Collaborate with FPGA, hardware, manufacturing, and quality engineering teams to deliver robust product solutions.

Investigate and resolve complex software and system-level issues.

Contribute to the development and evolution of next-generation measurement platforms.

Develop automation tools, validation frameworks, and diagnostic utilities to improve product quality and engineering efficiency.

Partner with engineering teams across multiple global sites to execute development plans and deliver high-quality product releases.

Adopt and promote modern software engineering practices, including AI-assisted development workflows.

Create and maintain technical documentation and share knowledge across teams.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.

Software development experience using C++, C#, Python, or similar programming languages.

Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including object-oriented design, software architecture, and debugging techniques.

Experience designing, implementing, testing, and maintaining software systems.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work effectively in cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.

Native-level or fluent proficiency in Japanese.
