M2N LLC operates authentic historical and cultural tours across Japan (Hiroshima, Miyajima, Nagasaki, expanding to Kochi and Osaka), partnering with leading international tourism platforms (GetYourGuide, Viator, GuruWalk, Freetour).
We are hiring English-speaking Tour Guides (freelance) to lead group and private tours in Hiroshima and Miyajima. Your role is to share Japan's rich history with international audiences, create memorable experiences, and maintain high professional standards.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct tours at Hiroshima's and Miyajima's historical and cultural landmarks — primarily Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park (広島平和記念公園) and Miyajima Island (宮島), home of the Itsukushima Shrine (厳島神社)
- Deliver engaging presentations on Japanese, Hiroshima, and Miyajima history
- Communicate with guests before tours to ensure smooth operations
- Provide exceptional customer service with cultural sensitivity
- Maintain punctuality and professional standards

勤務時間・曜日:
Flexible Scheduling (freelance / part-time)
Tours are assigned based on your availability and schedule preferences. You provide your availability, and we assign tours accordingly. Part-time and flexible arrangements are welcome. Compensation is hourly based on tours completed.
- Tours typically range from 2 to 6 hours per session
- Shifts arranged around tour schedules (morning, afternoon, and occasional evening tours)
- Availability submitted monthly (about one week before each month starts), with flexibility to adjust during the month
- Weekdays and/or weekends OK - you choose your days
- No fixed minimum days per week; ideal for supplementary income
- No overtime (compensation is hourly, based on tours completed)
- Work is conducted on-site at Hiroshima's historical and cultural landmarks — primarily Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park (広島平和記念公園) — and on Miyajima Island (宮島), home of the Itsukushima Shrine (厳島神社)
休暇・休日:
As a part-time freelance position, vacation scheduling is flexible. We request 2 months advance notice for any extended time off to ensure proper tour scheduling and guest management. No paid holidays, as compensation is hourly based on tours completed. Holiday availability (New Year, Golden Week, Obon, etc.) is welcome and encouraged.
勤務地:
Tours take place at two locations. Hiroshima tours are conducted entirely within Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park (広島平和記念公園). Miyajima tours begin at Hiroshima Station (広島駅), where the guide meets the guests and accompanies them by train and ferry to Miyajima Island (宮島) to conduct the tour, including the Itsukushima Shrine (厳島神社).
Passive smoking prevention: As all work is conducted outdoors at public sites, there are no indoor company premises. Smoking is not permitted during tours.
アクセス:
- Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park: Nearest stop is Genbaku Dome-mae (原爆ドーム前) on the Hiroden streetcar line, about a 2-minute walk. Also accessible by bus or a short taxi ride from Hiroshima Station.
- Miyajima tours: Meeting point is Hiroshima Station (広島駅), served by JR lines, Shinkansen, and the Hiroden streetcar. From there the guide accompanies guests by train and ferry to Miyajima.
- Other means of transportation: Public transport, personal vehicle, or bicycle acceptable. Guides arrange their own transport to meeting points.
給与:
- Transportation for Miyajima tours: round-trip travel from Hiroshima Station to Miyajima (train + ferry) is covered by the company.
- Please note: guides are responsible for their own transportation from home to the meeting point (Hiroshima Station or Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park). Only the Miyajima leg (from Hiroshima Station and back) is covered.
- No fixed overtime pay (hourly compensation based on tours completed).
- Performance-based rate increases for consistent high-quality service.
