6. Qualifications:
Applicants should have:
1) A doctoral degree or equivalent qualifications.
2) It is desirable that applicants have sufficient Japanese ability to conduct classes, advise
students, complete administrative tasks, contribute to committee work, and perform other
necessary tasks.
3) Extensive educational experiences and proven abilities in the liberal arts curriculum.
7. Application Documents:
1) Curriculum vitae with a recent photograph of the face, describing present address, phone
number, e-mail address, academic career, research career, professional career and others.
2) Details of educational experiences and future aspirations at Kanazawa University (two
sheets in free format).
3) List of research activities, including original scientific papers, book chapters, other
publications, presentations in scientific meetings, awards and others.
Note that the publication list should be prepared according to the following manner;
(1) names of all the co-authors in each paper should be indicated in appearance order;
(2) the applicant's name in the list should be underlined;
(3) the responsible author(s) should be clarified, if the first author(s) is not the
responsible author(s);
(4) all the papers without peer review should be clarified in the list, or separately listed;
(5) manuscript in preparation and/or under review should not be included.
4) Offprints of main published papers (maximum number of papers is five, hard copy is
acceptable).
5) A description of the applicant’s research interests and achievements and ambition for
future research (two sheets in free format).
6) List of research support (time period, name of grant, title of education/research, and
amount of money should be included).
7) Two reference persons’ contact details, including their names, affiliations, official
positions, contact addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses.
8. Selection Process:
After the first screening based on the application documents, short-listed candidates will be
called for an interview and a teaching demonstration around November to December 2025. When
an on-site interview is not feasible, an interview via the Internet is possible. Selection committee
includes an academic stuff from Institute of Human and Social Sciences, Kanazawa University.
Kanazawa University cannot provide funding for travel and accommodation expenses for the
interview and teaching demonstration.
