Your New Role
The Employee Connection Specialist is a key member of the APAC Employee Connection team, responsible for delivering a seamless and compliant employee experience across the employee lifecycle in Japan. This role supports HR operations including onboarding, offboarding, payroll administration, benefits, compliance, and employee inquiries while ensuring operational excellence and service quality. The Specialist partners closely with employees, managers, and cross-functional stakeholders to continuously improve processes and enhance the employee experience.
- The main office will be at Toranomon Hills, but you will also be expected to work at the Toshimaen office.
Your Role Accountabilities
Serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries, providing timely, accurate, and professional HR support.
Manage end-to-end employee lifecycle processes, including onboarding, offboarding, employment changes, and probation management.
Execute HR transactions accurately in Workday and related systems while maintaining data integrity and compliance standards.
Support payroll administration, benefits management, employment verification, and other core HR operational activities.
Partner with internal stakeholders to support organizational changes, audits, reporting requirements, and regulatory compliance obligations.
Identify process improvement opportunities and proactively resolve or escalate issues to ensure a positive employee experience.
Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee matters with professionalism and discretion.
Qualifications & Experience
Required
3–5+ years of experience in HR operations, employee services, shared services, or HR administration within a fast-paced environment.
Native-level Japanese and professional-level English language proficiency.
Strong understanding of Japanese labor laws and HR compliance requirements, including employment contracts, leave administration, and employee lifecycle processes.
Experience working with HRIS platforms, case management systems, and employee service delivery processes.
Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills with a customer-service mindset.
Preferred
Experience using Workday, ServiceNow, or similar enterprise HR systems.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and SharePoint.
Experience supporting global or regional HR operations within a multinational organization.
Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements.
