Rewarding, but don't apply if you don't like teaching
The title might sound like a joke, but I spent two years in Japan, and the most frustrating thing was seeing people get in who didn't even care about the job. There are rough times during it when you just want to be left alone drunk on a bicycle in the middle of a town you don't recognize, but overall, I loved it. Japan is beautiful (though they are pretty racist and sexist), but it's important to remember that this is a teaching position, and you need to care about the children.
良い点beautiful countryside, decent first teaching job, only need bachelor's
悪い点a lot of social pressure at work to never take breaks or even sick leave, mandatory expensive work parties
